The Chatter House, Khan Market

One of the newest additions to the Khan Market scene is The Chatter House. The Irish Pub lives up to its theme with the bare brick walls and the high ceilings the round windows, the open, casual and friendly atmosphere, and hearty food and drinks.

The Chatter House seems to have become popular with the locals as it was almost packed on a Thursday evening! We found ourselves a table on the 2nd floor and ordered straightaway!

The even began with one of their House Special Cocktails - The Breezy Kit. Just like the name it was  refreshing and light.

The Almond Citrus salad was well prepared. The citrus added some zing, the almonds added some crunch and the feta sort of brought the whole dish together.

The Blue cheese naan served with the Dal makhani shots were just amazing! I personally love Dal makhani and even more so when it is well prepared, The Blue cheese naan was served with chunks of pineapple to add some sweetness but I felt were not necessary as the naan and the Daal makhani were delicious on their own!

The Chicken Tostadas came in next. Usually the base of the tostadas are very thin and baked. So we were quite disappointed when the one we tried was thick and fried. The toppings were undoubtedly delicious but the base just let it down.

Moving on to some more classic cocktails, we tried the Classic Martini and the lemon Margharita which were well made and exactly what we expected.

Moving on to more food, the chef recommended the Piggy and Ginnie which is braised pork belly and prawns in a sweet chilly sauce.  The overall taste was good , however, I felt that the excessive pork fat and less pork meat let down the dish a bit. I do know friends who might love this dish because it has so much pork fat but I am just not one of them.

The grilled sausages served with trio of dips was served next was just average and Mustard, cocktail and asian style dips could not really make up for the lack of flavour of the sausage.

The Galauti kebab with the ulta tawa parantha and mint chutney was melt in the mouth delicious. A great Indian starter to try at The Chatter House!

While we were busy gorging down the amazing food, I came across the Monkey Vineyard - unique combination of banana, lime, red wine and vodka. The drink was not only confusing but comforting in a weird way. The banana mad it feel like a smoothie and the wine and the vodka made it taste like a cocktail. I still have not been able to get my head around it and so will not really be able to tell you if it was good or bad. Maybe you will have to give it a try.

Next in line we tried Balls on fire - Soft and succulent lamb meat balls in a generous serving of tomato and chipotle sauce topped with Feta and smoked chilli - Simply delicious!

Moving on to the mains, the Peri Peri chicken served in home made sundried tomato pesto was quite spicy but also flavourful.

The Chicken Parmigiana which is baked crumbed chicken breast topped with tomato and mozarella served with side salad and fries was delectable.

The light and toothsome cheesecake proved to be the perfect end to a very enjoyable evening.

The Chatter House definitely lives up to its name of being a Pub. Most of the menu is finger food or snacks which is exactly what you would expect at a Pub. I do wish and hope that they would add Guinness beer to their menu !
