Boombox Brewstreet is the new brewery in the Sector 29 market and has easily proven itself to be one of the best. It is always packed and you will rarely find a dull moment while you dine/party at Boombox Brewstreet. The restaurant is quite spacious and uses the natural light to its advantage. The interiors are not dull or boring and the music is good. The service is good, drinks are great and the food is not only delicious but is names after famous Hindi Songs.
All meals begin with drinks so we went ahead and ordered Let the Boom Box and Roll Baby Roll. We barely knew what to expect with the drinks and so when they were brought in, we were pleasantly surprised.
Let the Boom Box had a strong mix of flavours of Cinnamon, clove and Star Anise. The drink was not only high on flavours but was also very potent.
Roll baby roll had a strong but not over powering flavour of Kaffir lime and I loved it! It has become one of my favourites at Boombox Brewstreet.
Moving on to the food, we tried "Punjab se lekar Delhi via spain" which is basically fried rajma chawal served on papad with a delicious dressing. A different and innovative take on the regular Rajma Chawal and tasted good.
We tried "Something Fishy" next which was not only delicious but extremely well cooked. The Kashundi marinade , the tikka served on tomato chaat and lemon foam topping lead to a great representation of the dish.
"Ye Reshmi Julfein" was chicken tikka served in a very unusual way. I have never seen anything being served like this ever and was quite surprised. The tikka was well cooked, soft and succulent .
The P B & J which is Paneer, Bread and Jam was again a very different dish. Almost similar to a bread roll, P b & J is made by slices of bread filled with a paneer filling coated with aloo lachcha, deep fried and served with a bit of jam. The idea is to get the savoury taste from the P&B and a slight sweetness from the jam which together makes a sweet and savoury combination.
"Aye Mere Pyaare Mutton" was my favourite dish of the day. Perfectly cooked Mutton meatballs in a flavoursome tomato based sauce. Oh yum!
"The chemical brothers" is jhaal muri served three way - fennel, achari and the original.
A twist on the original Caesar Salad is called "Teri meri kahani" is delectable. The dish essentially is the same as the original Caesar salad with only one difference- the croutons are replaced by crispy cheese balls.
Mr Gulati Kebab which is Galauti Paranthas served with the cutest tiny paranthas was again a great choice.
Imly ka boota, berry ka pulao which is fried Berry pulao topped with chicken served with berry reduction was sort of a let down. It was quite oily and the berry pulao cutlets were dry and not flavourful. This was the only let down of the day.
I can easily say that the desserts we tried at Boombox Brewstreet were not only out of the box but also ridiculously good!
"I love my India" is layers of cream and motichoor laddo served with kiwi and blueberry gel almost in the form of the Indian flag.
Khai ke paan italy wala was Paanmisu (like Tiramisu but Paan flavoured) and gulkand flavoured popocorn - a gastronomic delight. I could have more of this every day!
With funky names, preparation and presentation of the dishes, Boombox will have you guessing what the next dish will look like. It is a great place for a fun family lunch or to catch up/party with friends. You will definitely have a great time!
