Foxtrot, DLF Cyber Hub

For the last 4 years, I have worked at the office in DLF Cyber Hub and so, needless to say, i have dined at every single outlet that has ever been at Cyber Hub. Whether its official lunches, office parties, personal parties with friends, outings with the family or date night, Cyber Hub provides a variety of options depending on the cuisine preferred and the budget.
I have been wanting to have a meal at Foxtrot for the longest time and finally managed to visit last week. Foxtrot brings forth the concept of the “third place” – a place away from home or the office where you can spend time with friends, family and co-workers in an experiential dining space at a friendly price point. Foxtrot specializes in artisanal coffee and craft cocktails, one of which I could try that evening.

The decor is a little different in every part of the restaurant. The section at the entrance is a relatively quieter place for dining with the family or to have a conversation. As you move to the inner section of the restaurant, the vibe changes. Each section, though designed for separate purposes, is warm, welcoming and cozy.

The menu is a mix of items which put together can please all kinds of palates. To complement the vast food menu, the beverage menu consists of an extensive list of experimental and artisanal coffees, signature cocktails, community cocktail and the classics.

The Posh G&T which was a very complex combination of Gin, Tonic water, a cucumber slice, rosemary, mint, basil, juniper berries, peppercorns, lemon slice and lemon peel was very potent and flavourful.

The Goa shack prawns was basically well made Butter Garlic prawns served with pieces of toasted bread. The toasted bread was a bit of a surprise as it was tasty, juicy and yummy because it soaked up the butter and the juices from the prawns. Overall the dish was delicious.

The Kathal Tacos with tomato & curry leaf chutney was the next surprise. I have not usually seen Kathal being used in any of the restaurants and surprisingly the dish was well prepared and tasty.

The Ghee roast chicken tacos were again well prepared. However, with the crispy coconut bits, the overall filling was a little dry even though it was high on flavour!

The Veg kulcha platter and the non veg kulcha platter were very ordinary. The kulchas were not cooked thoroughly and hence some bits were chewy and under cooked. The chutneys and the condiments were not so great on taste and were majorly missing seasoning.

The Ragda aloo chat was lip smacking delicious !

The next dish I tried was the Veg galauti sliders with masala fries. The veg galauti was soft and creamy and had a great bite and the chutneys served along with the dish were flavourful and appetizing.

The Arabic lamb kebab with pita and pickled veggies was the last dish I tried and was a bit of a letdown. The Lamb kebab was not seasoned & bland in taste and even the pickled veggies could not elevate the taste of the dish.

Overall the dishes were a mix of hits and misses. I am looking forward to coming back again to try the other dishes. I am also looking forward to visit when Foxtrot plans the Art Showcases, Farmers’ Markets, community-building activities, etc. just like it does at the Bangalore outlet!

Till then, Happy eating!
