Thai High, Mehrauli, Delhi

Thai food seems to be a popular choice these days and we love it! Our latest visit to the Qutub Minar left us famished and so we headed to the closest Thai restaurant- Thai High.

Thai High is located at the top floor of the Ambawatta complex . As soon as you enter the restaurant you are greeted by extremely courteous staff and the beautiful setting. A calm and dimly lit setting with fairy lights everywhere, a gorgeous view of the Qutub Minar and an Angeethi to keep you warm - the perfect ambience for a romantic evening.

The menu is extensive and since we were already very hungry, we went ahead and ordered the starters and the drinks. The staff was really helpful and painstakingly explained the preparation and ingredients of each dish before we could settle on what to order. The drinks and starters were delivered in no time and we couldn't be happier.

The Pina colada was sweet and creamy as it should be but the Mint margarita totally blew my mind. The subtle taste of mint and the smooth and creamy texture just elevated the flavours to another level. You must try it if you ever visit Thai High.

The Som Tam i.e. the spicy raw papaya salad was juicy and delightful. The papaya was soft and juicy and the peanuts added some texture to the salad.

The Kai Krob Phad Namphrik Phaw was Ambika's favourite. Crispy chicken tossed in Thai chilly paste and spring onion was delicious and flavourful. The amount of spice was just right.

The Yam Phak Krob i.e. crisp vegetables in a spicy and tangy sauce was zesty, non spicy, tart and very flavoursome.

The Tom Yam chicken soup with mushroom, lemon grass, galangal and kaffir leaves was simple and palatable.

The Kway Teow Nam Koong Kai Phak or the veg soup was delectable and tasteful.

For the main course we ordered exotic greens in garlic sauce, veg garlic noodles, Veg Thai Red curry with steamed rice and Kai Phad Karphaw.

The veg garlic noodles were well cooked and flavourful.

The Exotic greens in garlic sauce were tasty and well seasoned.

The Veg Thai Red curry absolutely blew my mind. The subtle yet wholesome flavour of the curry combined with the steamed rice was heavenly. Definitely my favourite Thai Red curry in the city.

The Kai Phad Karphaw i.e. sliced chicken with tossed in was succulent and delish! The chicken was really soft and tender .

The evening could not have ended without dessert and the served as the perfect ending to a great meal. The date pudding made with dates, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg and topped with toffee sauce and flambed on the table was exquisite and packed with flavours!
The ice cream served alongside neutralised the flavours of the cake and added a sweet element to the dish. This has now become one of my favourite desserts

The one thing that totally awes you is the view from Thai High. You can just never get enough of it. The other factor that you will love is that the staff really looks after you. They make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need for a great meal.

Thai high brings together authentic Thai food, oriental design, indulgent service and one of the most romantic views in Delhi and so in the process, creates an unforgettable dining experience.
