FoodPort, Gurgaon
Online ordering seems to have taken over Gurgaon. You can order almost anything from the convenience of your home or office and more often than not, it is delivered promptly and almost piping hot.
Getting a home cooked meal is easy now. However, there will be times when you crave for something other than the usual, something that you can treat yourself with and something that seems fancy but at the end of it all is fresh and nutritious. This is where FoodPort does well!
FoodPort has carved out a niche for itself by delivering gourmet and nutritious meals at affordable prices. Their website and their app offers multiple time slots for food delivery. The time slot are not limited to the main meals of the day but also include a slot for snacks in the evening.
The food arrives in packaging that we have not seen any other delivery service use. The packaging is not only recyclable but the trays are also microwaveable. We ordered our share from the menu of the day.
Ambika loves anything that has a skull on it. So as soon as the food arrived, she was convinced that the food would be good because there was a skull on it.
One bite of the Hummus and Shish Touk sandwich and Ambika looked like a happy baby munching away to glory. The hummus was extremely light, had the perfect consistency and was perfectly seasoned and the pickled onions were just too good. The bread was light and slightly sweet and the filling was delicious and moist. It was not dry like the usual sandwiches and the size was more than enough for one person.
The Lemon Iced Tea was slightly too sweet but was a good accompaniment to the meal.
Meanwhile, I tried the Spanish rice salad, which was a combination of rice, veggies and raisins served with a vinegar based dressing and garlic bread. The salad on its own was quite nice. The dressing , I felt, was a little too overpowering and did not do justice to the lovely salad. The garlic bread, shaped like a cinnamon roll, was also soft and tasty .
The Chicken Scallopini with burnt garlic spaghetti was the hero of the evening. Perfectly cooked spaghetti in a mild but flavourful tomato sauce served with soft garlic bread. The chicken was a little over cooked but all the flavours together just worked their magic.
So the next time you feel like treating yourself to a pocket friendly gourmet meal, order from FoodPort and you will not be disappointed.
Happy eating!
