3 Pegs Down, Saket

3 Pegs Down is the new hangout place for the cowboys in town. As soon as you enter the saloon doors, you will be welcomed by friendly staff and a large room with themed interiors which include a mechanical bull on one side and Cowboy hats & guitars on the other.

While the menu consists of multi cuisine options, it also has a cowboy country section with the Tex Mex specials. The Texpesto Lemonade with the slight hint of basil was very different and refreshing and was definitely worth the try.  

The Texas Margarita with the candied orange, jalapeno and the candied sugar rim was well prepared. But the sugar rim made it a little too sweet I guess. 

We tried the veg as well as the non veg platters. They were served on fish shaped trays with in house caviar specially made to enhance the taste of the kebabs. 
The Veg platter consisted of the Paneer Malai Tikka, Tandoori Soya Chaap and Satay Phak which is grilled veggies with a Peanut sauce. The creamy, soft and melt in the mouth Paneer Malai tikka was our favourite. 

The Non Veg Platter which came in next with the Chicken Tikka, Shish Touk and the Lamb Seekh kebab. The Seekh kebab was a disappointment. However the juicy and succulent pieces of Chicken Tikka and the Shish Touk made up for the disappointment. I dont think I have had Chicken tikka which was this good in a long time. 

For Pizza lovers who want a slightly healthier and tastier version of the pizza, you should try the Chicken tostadas. The fresh onion, jalapeno and tomato toppings add a zing to the tostadas loaded with cheese, beans and a lovely sauce. 

The Yakitori Udon Noodles served with luscious and juicy chicken was simply delicious. 

The last dish that we tried was the Caramel Pepper Prawns. I am not a fan of prawns prepared in a sweet sauce and hence I was not very impressed. Even though the prawns were well cooked, I felt that the caramel, even when combine with the rice, did not prove to be a good combination taste wise. However, if you are a fan of main course which is slightly sweet, you might love the dish.  

3 Pegs down is one of the only places we have been to which actually do some justice to the Cowboy theme. With the staff dressed as cowboys and decor that will make you feel like putting on your Cowboy pants, 3 Pegs Down is a promising spot for your next hangout.
