Cafe Kangaroos, Gurgaon
People who bond over their love for food and cooking, end up making some of the best love stories, and in this case, have given birth to a cute little Kangaroo in the form of an Australian Cafe - Cafe Kangaroos.
The Cafe has been curated by Chef Samay and Chef Rebecca who connected instantly over their passion for food and love for each other. Samay, who is born and brought up in New Delhi, travelled to Australia to learn more about their diverse culinary history and culture. There, he met the woman of his dreams, Rebecca, an Aussie girl with Greek roots.
Their love brewed in the kitchen at a restaurant where they worked as chefs. Their passion for food urged them to bring to India a delectable and authentic fare of Australian cuisine.
Contrary to the rivalry of India and Australia on the cricket pitch, this couple's love for each other has led to the birth of Cafe Kangaroos that promises a great culinary experience.
We tried four items and were bowled over by the taste and preparation of each of them.
Every sip of the thick Cookie and cream shake was absolutely amazing.
The pizza named "The Lot" was topped with onions, bell pepper, jalapeno, marinated cottage cheese, corn, mushroom, olives and mozzarella cheese. By the time it reached us, the pizza base had become soggy but the flavours were all really good.
The Kangaroo special lamb burger was humongous! I could not eat the whole burger in one go and really had to divide it over three meals but it was lip smacking and an absolute gastronomic delight. The burger was prepared with lettuce, tomatoes, caramelized onion, fried egg, cheddar cheese and their secret sauce all over a delicious and succulent lamb patty.
The star of the evening was the Fudgy brownie with hot chocolate sauce. It was chocolatey, gooey, soft, and finger licking good.
You must must must try their burgers and the dessert. Go ahead and give them a try!
