The Pasta Bowl Company, Gurgaon
One of our friends suggested that since Gautam loves Italian food, we should visit The Pasta Bowl Company. We went there for a quiet dinner this Sunday.
The Pasta Bowl Company is tucked away on one side of Cross point Mall, Gurgaon.
The restaurant is not very big in terms of space but with the number of people going in, anyone would understand that it is popular among the locals.
The ambience of the restaurant is very calm and serene. The high ceiling, the music playing in the background and the the walls covered with posters from Italy pretty much get you into the mood for great food and the food definitely does not disappoint you.
The menu has a variety of options for vegetarians and non vegetarians like panini, pasta , soup, salads, dessert etc. The menu is quite descriptive and mentions in detail the major components of each dish.
They also have a separate section in the menu called Junior Bowls. This is for children and people who do not want to eat large portions and would prefer going for smaller portions .
The kitchen is open and one can actually watch the food being prepared. The aroma of the food fills the restaurant and makes you even more hungry!
The Lemon Iced was tasty and genuinely taste of tea and lemon. It was not the version that is usually prepared from a ready mix.
The Spaghetti with Tomato and Basil Sauce was very well cooked and had just the right amount of sauce and spices. It was also very well presented.
The Baked Vegetables with Shells was creamy, cheesy and luscious. You could taste the cheese in every bite. It was well seasoned and well cooked. The shells were just right - neither overcooked nor undercooked.
The Non veg stew was a pleasant surprise. It was served with Garlic bread and polenta. The aroma of the stew made my mouth water and the taste blew us away . It had very minimal spices along with garlic and was very flavoursome.
The sausages, meat balls, chicken pieces were succulent and soft. However, the polenta was a let down as it was bland and not seasoned well.
The portions of the pasta dishes were medium sized and one dish may not suffice if you are extremely hungry.
The garlic bread served with each of the dishes was delicious - crispy on the sides, soft and buttery in the middle with the right amount of garlic.
We also wanted to try the Nutella crepes for dessert but we were stuffed. Will definitely try it next time!
Try The Pasta Bowl Company next time you feel like eating Italian food and we are sure that you will love it!
